Could the secret to your success lie in perfecting your performance in the bedroom?
In today’s Thursday Hotseat, we did a quick check-in to see how Members rated different areas of life, including health, wealth, happiness, time freedom and love.
We then delved a little deeper into some performance-affecting areas such as sleep, sunlight, exercise, nutrition and hydration. When Members rated the quality and quantity of sleep that they were getting, answers ranged from 6-8 out of 10, and some explained that present situations were causing them to miss out on some of the hours they would usually get.
Although the tendency for successful leaders and entrepreneurs can be to sacrifice sleep quantity in times of feeling under the pump, or lose quality of sleep because of working longer hours and a struggle with ‘switching off’, the science is clear that the results of inadequate sleep are likely to be less focus, less energy and less ability to problem solve.
Some great practical tips to improve the quality of your sleep are to ensure you have no-screen time at least an hour before bed and to resist the urge to look at your phone if you awaken in the night, as the backlit screen stimulates your pineal gland and will make it hard to go back into a deep sleep, also messing with your circadian rhythms.
The affects that an inadequate quantity of sleep can have on decision-making, are explained in this article from Forbes entitled “More Sleep, Not Less, Is The Secret Of Success”
And this Ted X talk by Matt Walker explains how Sleep is your Superpower.
