In yesterday’s Thursday HotSeat, we covered a broad range of topics, including a great reminder about the power of graphs and visualisation for staying laser-focused, and creating unity within our Teams around an intended outcome.
I introduced this concept last year in a previous post and it is definitely worth reading if you missed it, or giving the topic some more consideration if you didn’t get as far as implementing it.
In an age with so many things viewed on-screen, there is something wonderfully impactful, tangible and inspiring about having graphs printed out on paper and put up on the wall, old-school style. It goes way beyond what a spreadsheet can do for us, in terms of triggering our propensity as human beings to want to see things grow, succeed and expand.
My top tips for getting the most out of the visuals are to keep them updated by scheduling their creation (you or a team member), make them as colourful and fun as possible, as well as ensuring they are displayed in a prominent place.
